This is a quick breakdown of Out of Exile's raid rules/policies. If this stuff works for you, great, go ahead and apply. If you don't think you can follow these guidelines then you may want to look elsewhere for a raiding opportunity as we likely won't be a good fit for you.

1)  Raiders are expected to show up for all raids that are part of the schedule which they agreed to on their application. We understand that Real Life comes first so if something happens, and you cannot attend a raid make sure to let the raid leader know ahead of time.  It makes it a lot easier to form groups for raids when we know who can/cannot make it to the raid.  If you will be late, let the raid leader know ahead of time if possible. Real life always comes first, we just ask that you communicate with us so that we know.

2)  Raiders should be online at least 15 minutes prior to raid start time (when possible). You should be raid ready before the raid begins.  Raid ready means that you:

  • Are fully repaired

  • Have flasks, buff food, reagents

  • Are ungrouped

  • Are on your main character

You are responsible for knowing the boss fights before the raid starts. We provide videos in the "Raid Encounters Tab" on our website or the "Raidstuff" channel on our Discord.  You do not have to use the videos on the website if you prefer other raid guide videos so long as you grasp all of the mechanics and can understand the strategy that we choose to use. Popular guide videos we recommend are Limit Guild and Stankie Gaming. (Note: With Dragonflight this has the potential to change depending on which guilds put out quality guide videos and how quickly that they do it.)

3)  We will do our best to rotate everyone in (that is part of the actual Raid Team) so that everyone has their fair opportunity to raid, however it is not always possible to please everyone.  The raid leader discusses the choices with other officers before the invites go out, to make the best possible group (raid composition matters in progression raiding).  As a raider, you should respect this decision.  If you have an issue with the decision made, or an issue with a raid leader, bring it up after the raid with the raid leader or another officer.  Doing it during the raid, over a public channel, is not the place to have that conversation.

4)  Out of Exile uses a system called Loot Count (LC) to handle loot in our raids. The rules for Loot Count are as follows:

  1. The system only applies to progression raids (anything current tier level, and anything else that we deem as progression ahead of time).

  2. Off-set rolls do not count towards your loot count (if you roll offset and we catch you using it in your main set, however, you will be penalized on your LC).

  3. Your declared main will have your loot count.  After you apply, and are accepted for trial, your name should appear on the Loot Count page located in the "Loot Count" tab (You will need to be logged in to see this tab but it is available 24/7 and updates in real time).

  4. Loot Count is determined by simple math. Items won divided by Raids attended. In this way it is objective and fair with no favoritism.

  5. When a new player is accepted to the team they start on a trial period. This trial lasts for 2 weeks (6 raids), during which time they will acquire attendance points for Loot Count but are ineligible to win items over other players (if no one else needs them you can still win it of course, we are not goin to shard and upgrade for someone as that would be silly). This way a new player can not come in, win a highly sought after item that someone else has been working towards for months, then fail their trial and leave the guild with a shiny new item.

  6. Due to personal loot BoE items that drop in a Guild Raid belong to the person who looted the item. If they are willing to put it up for roll then the roll will use the Loot Count system but they are not obligated to in any way. If no one needs the item for Main Set then it will go to the owner to sell or to the guild bank should they choose to donate it (this is how we help gear up new additions to the team as well as fund the free guild repairs that we offer).

  7. The person with the lowest Loot Count wins the item*

*With Blizzard removing Master Loot as an option and forcing Personal Loot on us it changes the way Loot Count works slightly. You will NEVER have to give up an item you win via Personal Loot that you need for Main Set regardless of what your Loot Count is. If you win an item via Personal Loot, and you want it for your Main Set, then it is yours and is not added to your Loot Count. This system is for items that someone else loots via Personal Loot but does NOT need it, and thus it is put up for roll. That is where Loot Count will come into play. This is not an ideal scenario, but it is the best way we have currently to keep loot fair without having any feel bad moments where people have to give up upgrades that they initially looted.

5)  You are expected to be respectful and courteous towards your fellow guildmates during raids. You don't have to like everyone, and outside of raids if you want to have them on ignore by all means go for it; but during a raid you are expected to listen to ALL raid leaders and be a mature individual during the run. We are all in this together so obviously we would prefer to have everyone get along but we understand that 20 diverse people from all over the world in a stressful situation can lead to upsets. We have been fortunate the last couple of expansions to have been drama free for their entirety and we would like to keep it that way. If you have an issue with someone we recommend that you try and work it out, or bring it up to an officer and maybe we can help. if not then at least put them on ignore so that they do not continue to trigger you.

6)  This is a game, as such it is meant to be fun. We want our raids to be an enjoyable experience, however there is a time for play and a time to buckle down. When a raid leader or officer says to focus....end of discussion. You focus on the task at hand and only the designated people are to talk on discord during boss fight explanations and the fights themselves (for progression, if it is farm there is more leeway).

If this seems like a set of guidelines that you can abide by and get behind then we would love to have you as a part of our guild. If not then we genuinely wish you the best of luck in your continued search.

Good hunting and we hope to see you in there with us.
